In 2018, after completing the two final paintings for Complexity, I pulled out some old semi-abandoned canvases that I’d been working on nearly a decade earlier. I reworked and finished these, experimenting with a variety of oil painting techniques and often drastically altering them from their intended expressions. I also created a few new canvases, in which I explored how I mixed my paint along with various brush techniques, pushing results further until I finally created a technique that I felt gave me the possibilities I was searching for (resulting in the Blixtfisket series, which I began in 2019). I added two works to Corporeal from this series as well.
