In this series from 2009-2010, a precursor to Corporeal, I began searching for a more tangible expression of physicality and wanted to explore my capacity to make objects or suggested beings in these paintings seem more three-dimensionally real. My exploration into new painting techniques continues here, with an emphasis on multilayering, and there’s a bit of theater in these paintings as well, suggestions of narrative or interaction with an environment.
