Using techniques such as impasto backgrounds or multiple washes as I had in Shifted/Blended, in 2010 I gradually began working larger and incorporating abstract linework into otherwise generally more atmospheric paintings. This was really just drawing with paint on paintings, but I did a lot of experimentation with unusual techniques (such as scraping with a rubber spatula). The imagery is highly abstract and meant to be suggestive while beyond identification (like a linear version of the Corporeal series).
